Preface by the
Management Committee
Management Committee Report: Dec.2002
This
Management Committee meets approximately every 2-3 months to review the work
that Simon has been involved with and to offer our advice and, above all,
our support in what can sometimes be an isolated position.
There are
five of us on this committee and are people who are involved in a wide range
of activities both within and without Linthorpe church. It would be a
stronger group if we could persuade others to join us, but this has proved
to be difficult.
The church on
the whole is very supportive of the work that Simon is doing and especially
the Credit Union. This new venture for the church is presently being
extended to a Drop-In, and some of the church members have volunteered to be
part of a rota to run the programme.
Simon has
been very much a part of the East Cleveland Group of Churches and is
particularly skilled with the young people in the uniformed organisations;
these groups really look forward to the monthly Parade Services which Simon
prepares and leads. We on the Committee are very aware of how much time
this takes and are grateful to him for his helping to ease the burden on our
Minister. We are monitoring the situation to ensure that this extra work
does not take up too much of Simon’s little enough spare time.
Simon’s
quarterly reports are always thorough and we are always kept up-to-date with
the current workload.
